Carnelian

Beader.au Carnelian originates from Brazil, Uruguay, India, Madagascar, and the United States (particularly in Oregon and Montana).

It is not heat treated or dyed so each strand contains a diverse range of colours. Carnelian is a relatively transparent stone, so looks wonderful with light shining through it. At one end of the spectrum there is the dark, almost red orange, and at the other, so pale it looks white. Some beads are more grey in colour, and some have dark splotches or bands of colour.

This all adds to the uniqueness of natural beads vs the consistency of dyed beads. These are perfect for bracelets or necklaces. For earrings, it may be a little harder to match a pair of stones in a smaller pack size.
